What are Custom Values?
Custom values are used to tailor the YuLife experience to your organisation - essentially, any values you create against the following fields can be used to group your employees: business unit, contract type, department, employment status, grade, tags, work arrangement, and work location. For example, you could create a custom value: ‘Marketing’ against the department field and assign it to any relevant employees - this value can later be used in an eligibility rule, such as when creating a Leaderboard, or even for easier filtering on the Comprehensive export. Custom values can be renamed anytime, and changes will apply to all assigned employees.

How do I add a Custom Value and assign it to an employee?
Tap on the People page left-hand menu item and select an employee you would like to create a custom value for
Click ‘Edit’ on the section that holds the field you would like to create a value for e.g. For the ‘Department’ field, you would click Edit on the ‘Employment’ section, and then select that field
In the field, start typing the name of the new value you’d like to add - you should see the option to create the value
Create the value and save - you’ll now be able to assign this value to any employee in the same way (and this will be present in the list of values associated with that field on the Custom Values page)
How do I edit a Custom Value?
Tap on Settings on the left-hand side of the YuLife Portal and select Custom Values.
To select which field you would like to edit, tap on the heading at the top of the screen. Once you've decided on the field you would like to update, hover over the selected value and three dots should appear to the right-hand side. Select the dots and tap 'edit'.
A pop-up will appear where you can edit the name of the value - make sure you tap 'edit value' once you've updated the name otherwise it won't save.
Once you've tapped 'edit value', you'll be taken back to the Custom Values screen where the updated field value will be showing.
That's it! You've updated the Custom Value for all employees who are assigned to it. This update will also be reflected in the personal profile of each employee.
How do I delete a Custom Value?
Tap on Settings on the left-hand side of the YuLife Portal and select Custom Values.
To select which field you would like to delete a value from, tap on the heading at the top of the screen.
Once you've found the value you would like to delete, hover over the selected value and three dots should appear to the right-hand side. Select the dots and tap 'delete'.
You'll need to confirm that you want to delete the value by tapping 'delete value' - please note this action cannot be undone.
Great! You've now deleted the Custom Value for all employees who were assigned to it. This deletion will also be reflected in the personal profile of each employee.
Please note, if you delete a value that is included in an eligibility rule for a leaderboard, you will need to update the eligibility rule for that leaderboard. Click here for how to do this. This will also affect existing eligibility rules for auto-assign products and wellbeing hub entries.
Permissions
To be able to edit or delete custom values, you will need to have the 'manage custom values' permission enabled on your admin account. If this is not showing for you, please contact the owner of your portal (or any other admins who have the 'manage admins' permission).
