What is group critical illness?
Group critical illness pays a tax-free lump sum to an employee if they, their child or (if covered) their partner suffer one of the defined medical conditions, for a full list click here.
When your employer signed you up for group critical illness they will have chosen your policy to either cover you for a multiple of your salary (up to 5x) or a fixed amount (maximum of £500,000), as long as it doesn’t exceed 5x salary.
